Nuhope is a first of its kind Out-Patient Treatment Facility focused on helping patients reduce or eliminate their dependency on opioids and other controlled substances. Our multi-disciplinary approach combines high touch Medical supervision and prescription management, with intensive Behavioral Health support as well as Physical Therapy for persistent pain resolution. As a Physician Assistant for Nuhope San Antonio, this position is responsible for providing Medication Evaluation and Management to a range of patients having substance abuse disorders. The Physician Assistant will evaluate patient's suitability for the program, design and implement medical tapering plans and provide on-going supervision and care to patients in out-patient treatment. The position operates in collaboration with the Nuhope Medical Director. This position performs a wide variety of duties and responsibilities in a manner that places emphasis on quality of care and professional service. The candidate must work collaboratively with all Counseling and Medical services staff in support of direct patient services, exhibiting flexibility and a "can-do" attitude. As the key point of contact for medical services with most patients, this position is highly visible and plays a pivotal role in providing compliance with NuHope medication management protocols and insuring that patients begin receiving appropriate care and monitoring while fostering an environment which promotes patient comfort and trust. The candidate should not only be comfortable addressing the patient's medication, but also providing guidance or referrals on co-morbidities that may be interfering with long-term successful treatment.
