Physician Assistant Program invites applications from highly motivated individuals for this full-time position. This is a non-tenured-track appointment at The University of Texas Medical Branch School of Health Profession in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies with the rank of Assistant Professor depending on education, qualifications, and experience.
Primary Responsibilities include teaching and participation in all aspects of curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation. The faculty will teach and mentor students throughout the didactic and clinical curriculum. Responsibilities also include scholarly activity, advising students, serving on school and university committees, and other duties as assigned. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Supervisor will be the chair of the department.
Qualifications: Physician Assistant candidates must be certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), hold a current state of Texas license or be eligible to obtain a state of Texas license and have graduated and received a master’s degree in a field related to physician assistant education from an accredited physician assistant program. For PA candidates, two years of clinical and/or teaching experience is preferred. A doctoral degree is also preferred.
